Become a Green Sketching Ambassador
Introducing people to joys and benefits of green sketching is incredibly rewarding work.
My 1-to-1 training gives you all the skills and confidence you need to run your own in-person green sketching workshops. Topics we can cover include:
- the science and principles of green sketching
- teaching/marketing to different groups of people
- finding your niche
- practical tips for running effective workshops
- health and safety and legal essentials
- pricing and marketing tips (on and off social media)
- guidance for your own green sketching practice
Training Options
1:1 (Online) £995
My 1:1 training sessions are tailored to your specific needs and interests — green sketching has many different applications and everyone I work with brings different skills, experience and goals.
In addition to the practical support, 1-to-1 training is also a brilliant mentoring opportunity, where I can help you tackle any self-doubt or confidence issues that might crop up when you're changing career or working by yourself (believe me, I've been there!).
The online training consists of two 90-minute Zoom sessions (typically scheduled a week apart).
After our training sessions, I’ll send you detailed training notes (so you don’t have to remember everything while we’re talking).
I also offer 1:1 trainees 30 days of follow-up support over email for any extra questions that crop up after our sessions.
The price includes a copy of my book The Green Sketching Handbook.
Immersive Training (In Person) From £1295
My in-person training day is a more immersive experience offering an extra level of support.
As well as learning how to run green sketching workshops, you’ll be able to come joy spotting with me in the Peak District, play with my art materials and pick my interdisciplinary brain over coffee and cake. The price includes materials, lunch, coffee and cake, and a copy of my book The Green Sketching Handbook.
We meet at a mutually convenient location — I’m happy to travel up to 90 minutes from Macclesfield, UK. If you’re based further afield, contact me and we can discuss options.
Location: In-person training can be arranged at various sites within Cheshire, Derbyshire or Staffordshire. Alternative locations are sometimes possible -- contact me to discuss. Additional travel costs may apply.
Time: 10am to 3pm (we can continue to 4pm if we need to, but 5 hours is quite intensive and usually plenty of time).
Weather: green sketching is a (nearly!) all-weather activity, so I will only postpone our in-person training session if the weather forecast looks awful. Please check the forecast and come prepared.
Group Training (Online) £795
Once or twice a year, I run a group training session for a small cohort (4-6) of people who prefer to train alongside others.
The format of the training is similar to my 1:1 training with two 90 minute Zoom calls and training notes.
There’s less opportunity for personalised mentoring (and no email follow-up) but more group interaction and support.
Please get in touch if you’re interested and I can give you details of the next group training and/or add you to the waiting list..
Training Info
Certificate: Once you’ve completed your training, you'll receive a certificate to confirm you are an official green sketching trainer.
Community: Everyone who trains with me (1:1 or group) is invited to join my informal network of green sketching ambassadors. We meet (online) several times a year to share tips and offer each other support away from social media. You can take a look at the profiles of some of the other people I’ve trained here.
Copyright: Please note, all my training materials and the contents of my book, The Green Sketching Handbook, are subject to copyright. You are free to refer them in your in-person workshops, but they cannot be reproduced online or in print without prior written permission. Thanks for your understanding.
Payment: I’m very happy to accept payment in instalments, if helpful.
Funding and scholarships: Some participants have been able to secure external funding to take part in the training. Each year I also set aside 1–2 scholarship spots through a brief application process — if you’d like to be considered, please get in touch.
Booking: Contact me if you’d like to book a training session and we can find a suitable date that works for both of us.
